Gary D. Ridgway

Gary D. Ridgway, 89 of Newcomerstown, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Riverside Manor.

Gary was born January 28, 1937, in Newcomerstown to the late Albertus and Katherin (Touvell) Ridgway. Gary liked reading and watching movies, and also enjoyed traveling.      He was a huge Ohio Buckeyes fan, and liked spending time with his two cats Hans and Gretel. Above all, he loved his family, especially his two granddaughters who had a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his children John (Lucinda) Ridgway, Mark (Mary) Ridgway, and Matthew Ridgway; two granddaughters Kayleigh and Adilynn Ridgway; and his siblings Sam (Tommy Jean) Ridgway, Jack (Velma) Ridgway, and Craig (Margaret “Peggy”) Ridgway.

Along with his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife Doris J. (Kail) Day; and his brother Albertus “Bert” Ridgway Jr.

Gary will be laid to rest at West Lawn Cemetery.
